Introduction
The Wet Mill Plant is critical in the sustainability of the mill and operational excellence strategies to achieve budgeted targets in plant capacity utilization, efficiencies, quality, utilities and cost control whilst engaging and retaining talent.
Job description

 

To assist the Wet Milling plant by collecting chemicals, removing fly ash waste, rework Feed, Gluten, Germ, Maize and general cleaning on a daily basis.

     Achieve production targets.

    Proactively report product spillage and leaks to minimise financial losses.

·        Communicates and collaborates effectively with others on plant concerns.

·        Proactively builds professional relationships within and across teams.

·        Ensures plant effectiveness by carrying out critical process checks.

·        Adjusting operation parameters.

·        Taking WIP dips daily/monthly and converting dips to actual. Complete daily inventories for chemical stock available on floor for the plant.

   Product transfer

Draw product effluent samples as per procedure.

Demonstrates understanding of internal and external customer needs, expectations and delivers accordingly

Works in a way to ensure compliance with safety, health, environment and community legislation.

 Complies with workplace policies, procedures and work instructions.

 Ensures plant is maintained in hygienic conditions

   Obtain chemical store requisitions for chemical collection for the plant when required.

Complete Master Cleaning Schedules for the Plant.

Supply relevant information to the Wet Mill, (Milling, Co-products and Steeps) process Controller to ensure continuous operation of the plant.

     Clean the plant on a daily basis.

 Remove fly ash skip

Rework Feed, Gluten, Germ & Maize waste.

  Clean fibre wash screens with hypo & wap

  Clean Merco underflow lines & shute with wap.

  Wash Gluten RVF’s trough & the floor around the Gluten RVF’s.

Clean merco Nozzles and wash plates  Clean all suction pots

Assist in the removal of blockages on the Wet Mill. (Wet Milling, Co-Products & Steep

Assist with starting up and with shutting down of the Wet milling plant

  Assist with adding sulphur at the burner hopper

 

 

 

Minimum requirements

Grade 12  (Maths and Science) 

Basic wet-milling training experience will be an advantage.

1-3 years operation experience

Basic wet-milling training experience will be an advantage.

Team-player with good communication skills
