Job description
Main Purpose of the Role
Lead and manage projects from conceptual design, detailed design, construction/implementation, commissioning, and handover stages.
Manage and control the Capital Projects budgeting process and ensure a 5-year rolling plan is in place.
Ensure adherence to Capital Projects procedures, processes, and lifecycle stage gates.
Collaborate with the Technology Group and Mill Engineering for cross-functional project matrices.
Provide technical input for engineering design, commissioning, and training
Key Performance Output Areas
1. Financial
Prepare budget estimates.
Participate in procurement.
Deliver projects on time, within budget, and with appropriate technology.
2. People
Coordinate project implementation across departments.
Communicate and ensure adherence to governance procedures.
Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
3. Business Process
Engage in projects from conceptualization to commissioning.
Develop and manage project-specific standards and procedures.
Participate in equipment/system design and negotiations.
Ensure quality control and performance compliance.
Support design development using CAD and other tools.
4. Customer
Lead investigations into project-related failures (RCA).
Research, evaluate, install, and commission systems and processes.
Conduct feasibility, design, and performance analysis.
Test alternative models and designs for optimization.
5. Sustainability
Apply sustainability standards and procedures to Capital Projects.
Ensure sustainability measures are included in project feasibility and implementation.
Design technical solutions to improve business sustainability.
Minimum requirements
Qualifications and Experience
Academic Qualifications
- Degree in Industrial, Chemical, Mechanical pr Electrical Engineering
- Post Graduate in Project Management
Work Experience
Industry Exposure: Wet Milling, Paper & Pulp, Chemical Refineries, Oil & Gas
Experience: 10–12 years in manufacturing, engineering, and project management (Required)
Knowledge and Skills
Wet milling processes and engineering in Food Ingredients Manufacturing
Advanced knowledge in mechanical, chemical, and civil engineering
Process and equipment optimization, troubleshooting
Practical applications of engineering principles
Design tools (CAD, blueprints, models)
Project management and engineering studies
Raw materials and manufacturing quality control
HAZOP, HACCP, ISO standards
Environmental impact assessment
Advanced computer literacy: MS Office, MS Projects, CAD
Problem-solving methodologies (e.g., RCA, fishbone)
Excellent communication and knowledge-sharing skills
